----------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, October 30 Meagan sees the morning paper front page article about Larry Welch. She shows Bo and tells him that she and her father didn't know anything about it when they backed Larry's political career. Jonathan comes to Meagan's house and she tells him she wants to know who gave the story to the newspaper. Jonathan asks if Meagan has heard from Maxwell and she says no, but they will take care of this crisis by themselves. Roman shows Abe the metronome (timekeeper) that Stephano used to use and they conclude that it is either Andre sending the packages to Roman, or Stephano is still alive and it is he that is sending the packages. Marlena asks Roman why all the police are around their house. Roman tells Marlena and Kimberly that he is assigning bodyguards to each member of his family because they think Andre may be back in Salem. Roman doesn't mention anything about Stephano possibly being alive. Alice and Melissa go to see Hope at her apartment. She is cooped up there with Will because she is being hounded by reporters. Will is taking all calls and telling the reporters that Mrs. Welch has no comment. When Will goes into another room, Hope tells Alice and Melissa that if Larry's political career is ruined, she may get out of the marriage to Larry. Tess's husband Barry shows up at Shenanigan's while Pete is there. He tells Pete that Tess took a job upstate caring for a wealthy couple's children and he has not seen her. He tells Pete he is not going to run after her. Barry also tells Pete that he is a chaueffer for Maxwell Hathaway. Melissa tells Hope about the accident that she and Pete got into and how she told Pete to just forget about their relationship. Hope convinces Melissa to give Pete another chance if she really loves him. Kimberly tries to convince Roman to not assign a bodyguard to her. He refuses and they get into an argument. Kimberly then agrees to take the bodyguard only during the day, because she tells Roman she needs her privacy at night. What she needs her privacy for is her clients. She is afraid that her "business" will suffer if she has a police officer hanging around. Abe tells Bo about the packages Roman has been receiving. Abe tells Bo that he and Roman have assigned a bodyguard to each member of the Brady family. Bo refuses the bodyguard because he tells Abe he is still supposed to be working for Maxwell and a cop hanging around would just not work. Abe agrees. Bo tells Abe that he thinks that Maxwell Hathaway and Viktor Chervot are somehow linked because of the note that Gwen found in Maxwell's office that had Viktor's name on it. Anna tells Alex that they are going to have to move the design business to larger space because her loft is just not large enough any more. Alex tells Anna that they may be able to get some space at Anderson Manufacturing. Pete and Melissa meet at Shenanigan's and Melissa tells Pete she forgives him and she loves him and wants to spend more time with him. Pete tells her that he is going to quit his job and this is going to be his last night because his job has just come between them too much. Pete leaves and tells her he is going to his job for the last time. A friend of Melissa's asks her if she would like to go to the costume party at Beefcakes tonight. Melissa says sure, why not, her boy friend is working and she has nothing else to do. Alice asks Bo if he gave the story to the newspaper about Viktor Chervot. Bo says no and he knows Eugene did not either. They can't figure out who it was because they thought they were the only ones who had the information about Viktor Chervot. Alice tells Bo that she went to see Hope at her apartment. She tells Bo that Hope is fine, but she can't talk on her walkie-talkie watch because Will is still at there at the apartment and watching Hope like a hawk. Marlena is home giving out treats to trick-or-treaters when another letter arrives for Roman, this time from the Dominican Republic. Marlena signs for the letter and opens it. Inside is a black feather and a letter that says, THE PHOENIX RISES AGAIN. (The black feather is what Andre had put in the hands of all of his victims after he killed them. That is another story line that occured about a year or so ago when Stephano was in Salem before and taking out his revenge on Roman and is family.) Roman comes in and Marlena shows him the letter and feather and asks him if Stephano is still alive and if he has come back for them. She looks genuinely scared. Melissa and her friend are dressed up in their costumes and on their way to Beefcakes.
