Last week: Dominique collapses while singing and is brought into the hospital. She has a serious heart valve problem and requires immediate surgery. Alexis gets a call from Bolivia about the Jeff Colby-Nicole Devillves marriage. Turns out they were married illegally by a bartender that Nicole had paid off. Jeff finds out and tells Nicole to get out of his life. Luke comes to see Steven and tells him he wanted to see him and couldn't stand being without him. Steven tells Luke that he missed him to. Dex contracts malaria in Paraguay and comes home collapsing on the floor. At the hospital, a delirious Dex calls out Amanda's name while Alexis is present saying "Amanda...Amanda...I'm sorry, please forgive me..." Alexis leaves the room in a huff. Dominique goes into surgery and suffers a few scary moments. But she'll be fine and Blake is relieved. Steven tells Blake that he is in love with Luke. Blake reassures Steven that he accepts him, but tells Claudia that Steven loves her and asks her not to abandon him. Claudia retorts that she's not a one-woman rescue mission. Adam butts in and ushers Claudia out of the room. Ashley visits Blake at the hospital and Crystal spies them holding hands. At the conclusion: Alexis telephones Prince Michael's father and proposes an alliance.

Dominique is recovering from her operation with a concerned Blake promising that as her brother he'll always be there for her. Alexis, feeling betrayed by Dex, tells him she's going on a "business" trip. On the way out of the hospital she runs into Amanda who is concerned about Dex. Alexis ushers Amanda back home telling her that Dex is not allowed visitors. Jeff romances Ashley Mitchell with a display of flowers and seems a lot happier. Later,when Blake compliments Jeff on his positive attitude, he confesses that he wants to get Ashley to fall in love with him. Blake expresses concern and hopes Jeff doesn't become involved with Ashley. (wonder why???) Steven tells Crystal he's involved with Luke Fuller and is happy that Blake has accepted it, although he is still torn by his love for Claudia. Meanwhile in Moldavia, Alexis charms the King Galen as she steers the conversation to the topic of Prince Michael's engagement and Colbyco's possible economic aid to the kingdom. The King doesn't seem impressed since Alexis turned down his passionate advances the night before. Luke and Steven talk about Steven's depression. Steven ends up telling Luke he really wants to be with him. They go to bed. Blake questions Ashley on Jeff. He tells her Jeff could be a problem because he's been hurt recently. Ashley asks Blake if only Jeff's interests are on his mind and then kisses him "on impulse". Steven tells Claudia that he wants to make the relationship with Luke work, but he still loves her. Claudia says that all she ever wanted was for Steven to make a choice and stick with it, although she had hoped that she could be the choice. She says she still loves Steven and always will (violins...). The Prince confesses to Alexis that he is in love with Amanda but that it wouldn't do any good since he has to follow his father's wishes. Alexis tells him he must do what's right for himself (and what's right for Alexis, of course). Adam's friend Kyle makes a pass at Claudia, is turned down and decides to take his business elsewhere. Adam blames Claudia for the loss of the conference at la Mirage in a discussion with Blake. Blake comes down hard on Claudia and accuses her of mismanagement. Claudia does not tell Blake why she lost the conference. Later Adam takes advantage of the situation and tells Claudia that he's the only one she can trust. Claudia seems to fall for it. Ashley and Dominique talk about the good old days. Dominique asks her why she's here at Denver? What is it that she really wants? Crystal walks in and Ashley tells her that she's here to take advantage of any opportunities that may arise. Dominique advises Crystal to patch up her marriage with Blake because Ashley is one of those women men find it very difficult to say no to. Alexis, never one to give up, pleads to the King not to let what happened to them happen to Michael and Amanda. What she is referring to, of course, is to her past love affair with the King and the fact that they could not get married for political reasons. She describes her unhappy marriages and her supposed "true love" for the King. The King takes this opportunity to rekindle their love affair admitting to years of a loveless marriage. Crystal receives the picture of Ashley kissing Blake and confronts him. Blake says it was only a "friendly" kiss. They start argueing and finger pointing at each other. The King tells Alexis that their few hours together alone were the happiest he had for a long time. Alexis claims that she's also been very happy too (especially since now she'll get her way). Dex returns home as Amanda sits by the fireplace reading magazines. He gets very cross at Amanda saying he doesn't like women who just walk in and out of his life. Suddenly he feels sick and Amanda drapes his arm around her saying "you need me Dex." At that moment, Alexis arrives with Prince Michael in tow.
