[net.tv.soaps] AMC Update, 6/26

seb@vaxine.UUCP (Sue Baelen) (06/28/85)

Here's a synopsis of the June 26th edpisode:

Donna and Benny are getting married at Phoebe's house. Meanwhile Nina (who's
Donna's matron of honor) is dreaming/planning to kill Donna as she takes her
vows. (She blames Donna for forcing Zach on the town.)

Ellen is back on her moral high horse and won't go to a marriage counselor with
Ross. Ross is also traying to convince Adam to go for counseling to get over
his obsession with Erica.

Adam threatened Jeremy (the artist at Tempo) to stay away from Erica. Jeremy
tells Erica, and warns her of Adam's "dark side"

Daisy (looking great) went to see Cynthia (who wasn't wearing very much makeup
-- who are we supposed to like?) to convince Cynthia to settle for an out of
court divorce agreement. Daisy said the truth will come out in court -- all of
Cynthias lies, etc. Cynthia mentioned that Daisy's trust in the justice system
was a little ironic, considering her recent experience. (I thought that was a
great line, along with the one where some guy at Tempo magazine said, "I knew I
should have gone to work for Rupert Murdoch.")

Adam asked Ellen if there was another man. She went berserk and verbally
attacked his "gigantic male ego" and "neanderthal way of thinking." She called
him a chauvenist pig, threatened to quit, and told him to grab a banana on the
way out.

All in all it wasn't a bad Wednesday. It's the first time I've gotten to see
the show in weeks. I really appreciated all you people in netland for keeping
me up to date.

Enjoy,

Sue

Speaking of great lines, how about Gilles (the French guy - I can't
	spell it) saying to Erica:

Erica: Well watch TV or something
Gilles: I do not watch this love in the afternoon

Looking great?!?
Daisy reminds me of a "white" potbellied Pygmy with tobacco stained
teeth. Its obvious that she wears more make up than Cynthia even.
And she's so tacky....."Oh PC." Since when does a man like being
called a Personal Computer? I always hit the fast forward button when
I see Daisy and I'd rather go to bed with Mertyl.

Oh yes, it just occured to me WHY Erica is so popular with the female
viewers--she is the best manipulator I've ever seen.
Erica has ALWAYS had other people (especially men) do all the work for her.
Erica never does any work for herself. Did you see her panic when Mike
wasn't around to write for her the editor's column for Tempo magazine?
This can be the only reason why she is popular because she is a shallow
predictable stereotype who has 'slept her way to the top'. It breaks
my heart when I see fine men like Adam go to shambles over a spoiled women
like Erica.

I ask all the women out there, why do you like Erica so?

Some of us love her because we love to hate her!

It appears to me that you are incinuating that females like a female who
can be a great manipulator. Did I read something wrongly?

Personal Computer? PC stands for Palmer Courtland !!!!
Tacky? Edna is an example of tacky. Oh, and believe it or
not, the attraction between Palmer and Daisy is mainly emotional -
not all relationships are based on sex!

A fine man like Adam? I'll admit he does have his good points,
but he's been implicated in a murder attempt (his first wife's)
and his terrorism of little Bonnie? - I wouldn't say he was a
FINE MAN! Erica doesn't want his obsession at all.

I will not even address your generalization about women;
it's clear where your sympathies lie (Adam), and he's
as stubborn as they come! My personal opinion is that
Erica has changed quite a bit since her trip to Tibet.
I no longer view her as spoiled and shallow - and I
don't think she's helpless - it was her idea to get
Jiel on the cover; she did write the editor's article
herself and it was a smash; and it's her ideas that
are revamping Tempo - not Adam's, or Jeremy's or
any other MAN. It's true - she knows how to get what
she wants, but what's wrong with that? At least she
is not paying people to act as spies (like your
fine man Adam)!!! I view Erica a person whose
entire life is enchanted - there are people like
that, you know; and personally, I think if I had
a smidgen of what Erica has, I'd be set for life!
