BTW means "By the way."

Since no one else has answered I'll toss in my two cents: When I use BTW, it means "by the way," and is in a category with WRT = "with respect to", in that it is a quick way of writing a common long phrase.

By the way, if you use vi to edit your articles, you can have it automatically expand that ugly abbreviation at very little cost. And neaten your articles up in other ways, too. Nuff said?
