Norma is in a coma. McBride checks in on her in her hospital room and pulls her IV tube out. Next scene, Tom, a nurse, and McBride proclaim Norma dead. Abe comes in and tells McBride that he suspects police corruption. When Liz awakens, Marlena is visiting her and tells her that her vocal chords may be damaged ( but Liz talks a little ). Marlena gives her a pep talk. Speeding away in a car, Hope tells Bo that Cheif Cates set up her and Norma. Cates is following them, starts shooting, hits a tire and they crash. Hope is thrown from the car. Cates handcuffs Bo, ties him up in his car, and leaves to deal with Hope. A good samaritan arrives and takes Hope. Cates shows up at the hospital and tells Marlena and McBride that Bo and Hope were at the shooting scene and should be found. Cates gets rid of Marlena and tells McBride to tow the Bradys car to his boathouse. Bo is in a jail cell in the next county. Cates told the sheriff that Bo is a pathological liar so he dosen't buy Bo's story. Rather than taking Hope to a hospital, Hope is shown somewhere with the good samaritan taking care of her. Emma plants a bomb in the stables for Kimberly. Victor comes in, and they both leave for Victors pre-race party. At the party, Larry offers his legal services to Tony and Anna, Anna tells him to buzz off. Alex shows up and Anna flips out. Emma is worried about being able to stay in Salem if her divorce goes through, so she starts checking out Alex as a potential husband. Neil arrives at the party and Victor and Kimberly tell him about Liz and he splits. Emma goes to another room, disguises her voice as Peachy, and calls Kimberly and tells her that Shane wants to see her in the stables. On her way out, Larry apologizes to Kimberly about the abused baby incident. Alex asks Peachy about race info, and she says go ask the trainer in the stables. The ?bomb? timer runs out, and Kimberly screams for help as the stables fill with smoke and flame. Jim Reed
