McBride has Pete tied to a chair in Ivy's apartment. Savannah comes in, and tells Pete to tell Todd amd Melissa to come back to Salem. When they do call, Pete says "Don't come near Salem" and Savannah slaps him. Grace puts Melissa in charge of the kitchen. Conrad rushes in, excited because Elsie the cow is about to give birth. Later, Todd is making fun of Melissa's cooking, she puts sugar instead of salt into a stew, and they find furs in the freezer and jewelery in the oven. They talk about Pete, and try to call him but someones on the party line. Later they do get through, and hear Pete say not to come near Salem. Grace and Conrad show them to their room. They roll up the bedspread to make a dividing line on the bed, and get in. Melissa worries about Pete, Todd tells her that her Pete will be back soon. Marlena, Tom and Alice are at the Hortons talking about all the young people disappearing. Cates comes over, and continues questioning everyone. Eugene comes over, he's getting bad vibes about Bo and Hope, he also feels that Hope will call. Tom starts to go over to Hopes to answer the call, and Cates convinces him that he needs a police officer around, he'll have McBride meet him at Hopes. Alone for a moment, Marlena asks Eugene if he has any vibes about Richard (Cates), he says he has none, but thinks Richard is great for her. Mickey comes over, and tells Cates that his child custody hearing is the next day in New York, Cates says he must go to it. Hope wakes up, freaking out about Bo. She and Francis talk, she surmises that she was thrown from the car during an accident. Francis promices to take her to a phone later. He changes clothes, and he's a monk, (almost), and they're at a Monastery near Salem. Francis tells Hope that he'd get into alot of trouble if she's found there. Hope tells him that someone is trying to kill her and Bo, shot out their tire. Francis helps Hope into a Monks outfit, and they go to a pay phone outside. Hope calls her house, but McBride answers and she hangs up. Hope makes a person to person call to Alice, Cates is listening in on the extention. When Alice says Cates is there, and listening, Hope says that her plane flight is being paged, she's gotta go, and faints in Francis's arms. He carries her back to his room, and she says she'd like to hang out for awhile, to figure out what to do. Pete is in the bedroom, tied up, and Cates comes over. He tells Savannah that Hope cut off the call as soon as Alice said that he was on the extention. They figure Hope was trying to throw him off the track talking about her "plane flight", but Cates says as police chief he has no choice but to follow up on it. Cates says he's tapping the phones of everyone who even remotely know Hope. They discuss where Hope might go to hide, Savannah mentions a lodge Hope used to go to with her father. Savannah tells the Chief that Todd called, but lies and says the line was cut off. They argue about him leaving for New York while all this is going on. Later, Savannah threatens Pete by asking him if he cares about his little baby. Milos comes in and says he's come to get Ivy's stuff to move to Victors guest house, and Pete is furious! Jim Reed
