You'd think something as simple as this would be easy to find. Just pick up your handy Inmac catalog and order them. Well, Inmac's supplier doesn't make them anymore and Inmac hasn't negotiated a new deal yet. It's also hard to make regular labels fit on the end of the tape cartridges. Our buyer gave up after calling a couple of places. I couldn't believe that they weren't available so I went on a quest for white 3480 labels (bar-coded and optical char reader numbered labels are easy to find). It seemed that just about everyone I called didn't have them. I called at least 15 places looking for these. I called all over the country. I even called IBM, 3M and BASF. IBM gave me a 5 numbers to call, none of which panned out. 3M gave me 4 numbers. One of them panned out after a bit of a wait and a callback. StorageTek gave me a few possiblities. One panned out. In case any of you are looking for the same thing, here are two sources: (strange that they both turned out to be here in San Diego ;-) Richard Young and Assoc. (619) 452-3900 (minimum 5000 labels) WriteLine (619) 275-0020 (minimum 1000 labels) You may also be able to get them through International Office Supply (619) 457-0335. They may get them through Richard Young and Assoc. but you may be able to order in smaller quantities (we have an account with International so I told our sales rep with them where to get these so I could have the labels be ordered as part of our regular office supplies).
