The serious system error code 02 indicates an address error, so it seems that your SYSTEM file is messed up. As to how you can insert the disk, try he option-shift that somebody suggested, as I have nothing better. What is "Inside Macintosh"??? We've been doing development on the Mac, and all we have is a stack of assorted drafts of manuals for the various managers and QuickDraw. Is "Inside Macintosh" a comprehensive manual explaining all the toolbox functions, structures and usage, or is just sort of a summary? How long is it? Isn't anyone out there using the Disk Utility program to receive files from the outside world? It is a lot easier to use than a terminal program, and the protocol is quite simple. I have heard rumours that 512K Macs tend to have overheating problems... Also, the Globe and Mail eported on Thursday the Mac sales up to May 2nd are expected to total 70 000 units, 40% above Apple's expectations. On the other hand, the Toronto Sun reports that PCjr's are selling in the use at a rate of about 1000 units a month...
