  Does anyone with access to "Inside Mac" know if the address
of the bit map for Mac's screen can be changed? (i.e. flipping
between two bit maps to do true animation...)

yes, double buffering is definitely allowed.  In fact, there are two pre-defined
(by convention) bit map regions precisely desinged for double buffering.
