Text: Folks, may I suggest that what we need are some experiments (and
experimenters) to determine the easiest way to fatten-up our Macs and
a "consortium" to buy the chips in large quantities. I.e., Info-Mac
Fat Mac Kits? Larry

I would be game for trying to convert my Mac to 512K but:

1) Some skill would be required by owners because the memory chips
are soldered in (no chip sockets), and de-soldering 16 chips without
distroying the circuit board is non-trivial.

2) It voids our warranty...

3) Would not we need a modified Finder and/or Toolbox ROM to make effective
use of the extra memory?

Now of course if Apple would make available an official upgrade kit to
qualified user groups...
