I am back moderating INFO-MAC. I'm sorry for the majority of the list members
who had to wade through the garbage that was posted in my absence. Next time,
I'll secure a 'guest moderator' while I am away.

Since we seem to have many more INFO-MAC listeners and contributors than
before, let me reiterate that INFO-MAC is not INFO-LAW, WORKS, HUMAN-NETS,
POLY-SCI, CUTE-ANIMAL-STORIES, and INFO-MICRO all rolled into one. The purpose
of this list is to stimulate communication and sharing among individuals and
groups that are using or seriously interested in the Macintosh. The emphasis
should be on USING. INFO-MAC is not the place for trivial gossip, flames,
quips, or debates. We are also NOT a user hot-line.

I'm sorry to be insistent on this, but INFO-MAC cannot be everything for all
people. It was started to promote the sharing of serious MACINTOSH development
efforts among all who were interested, but mostly for educational sites. I
think the development and sharing of the SUMacc environment is testament to
the fact that we are succeeding in that goal.

I know people have the need to use the list for other reasons, like 'what do I
do when MACxxxx says ERROR x123', or 'gee, the MAC is great, but I'll stick
with my TRS80 Model I. It has a larger screen'. For those people, I would
suggest someone volunteer to create a new list like MAC-USERS or something
like that.

Back to the business at hand.
