There is an old movie called "Song Without End" which is a hollywood hokum version of the life of Franz Liszt. It stars Dirk Bogard as Liszt. I recommend it unqualifiedly (since I am an incurable romantic). One of the interesting sidelights is that Dirk studied with Jorge Bolet for a month learning how to look like he was playing. The finger synch is excellent. If it's coming up on the late movie, set your alarm and see it! What prompted this posting was a recent mention of three Liszt compositions which omitted one of my favorites: Etude in D flat un sospiro The Paganinni-Liszt etude No 5, La Campanella, is also a marvelous piece. The Etude in D flat is featured in the background a lot in the movie. Finally, there seem to be some accomplished pianists on this net! Maurice {decvax, sdcrdcf, hplabs, ucbvax}!trwrb!suhre
