I've wanted to find out for a long time, what brands of reeds are
better than others. Well, with the purchase of a new clarinet,
I recently went wild and purchased 8 different brands of reeds and 2
new mouthpieces for my clarinet. I'm not finished evaluating the
reeds but will post my opinions on them in 2 weeks. If you have any
preferences or comments as far as reeds and mouthpieces go, mail me
and I'll summarize. (Or if you're really an expert, tell me, and I'll
send the people's comments to you and you can expertly summarize
them.)
If you play the sax, your comments are probably useful too (although I
don't know anything about sax mouthpieces).
Don't forget to tell me what hardness reed you use. It would also
help if you told me what style of music you play. (I don't mean to
bias this by only posting to ...classical but it seems like the most
appropriate group of readers for this matter.)
