People from Houston don't say "hue-ston", although other Texans do.
True Houstonites (God pity their poor souls) say "you-stun".
Then there's always Pedernales State Park. The Spanish name refers
to flint and is pronounced (excuse the awful Berlitzification) "pay-there-
NAH-lace". The Texan pronunciation, however, is "Purd 'n Alice".
