Pardon the cross-posting, but I had no idea which group would be most appropriate. I detect considerable similarity between the openings of Leos Janacek's "Sinfonietta" and King Crimson's "Court of the Crimson King." There are four major possibilities: 1. Not having heard "C of the CK" for years, I've imagined the similarity. 2. I know less about music than I do about particle physics. 3. Remarkable coincidence. 4. Design. Does anyone out there have a strong opinion on this? Mail is probably best, posting to net.music.classical second best, and posting to net.music (which I don't often sample) worst. Regards, and thanks, Paul Dolber (...duke!phs!paul).
