Look for recordings on the Oiseau-Lyre label by the Academy of Ancient Music (Christopher Hogwood, director) Some are available on CD. All (so far) I have heard have been first rate.

I think the Hogwood recordings are overall the most desireable if you want to hear the music Mozart wrote. Some are on CD Herman Silbiger

I highly recommend the recordings of the Mozart Symphonies by the Academy of Ancient Music under the direction of Christopher Hogwood and Jaap Schroeder. The Academy plays on period instruments from which they coax the most delightfully transparent, yet very colorful, sound. The string timbre of this ensemble is glorious -- right up there with that of the Concentus Musicus of Vienna. My only criticism is that the Messrs. Hogwood and Schroeder use an ensemble a little larger than I might like ( especially for an 'original instrument' performance ), and that the music looses a little of the intimacy it might have if the ensemble were smaller.
