Well, the chorus I sing with, the Alta California Chamber Singers, is in serious trouble due to post-Christmas dropouts. We are down to about eight singers, and only two men. Does anyone out there have any experience or ideas for how to go about recruiting more members? So far we are planning to send audition flyers to music stores, public libraries, local colleges and schools, and so on. We are considering moving the rehearsal location to Berkeley from Orinda (about 10 minute's drive away) to encourage people to come. (So many people won't come to the other side of the hills for ANYTHING, but that's another topic....) Well, friends, any ideas? Or should we just hang it up and go our separate ways?
