A true story: Last Sunday after seeing "The Killing Fields" the previous night, I felt an uncontrollable urge to listen to TURANDOT while doing my taxes. Unfortunately I do not own TURANDOT on CD. Thus I was faced with a dillemma: either I could listen to the music I *really* felt like listening to *OR* I could use my valuable listening time to enjoy my CD player. This was no small decision; I have not used my old turntable since acquiring the CD player except to compare my vinyl edition of YAZ "upstairs at Eric's" vs. my CD edition of YAZOO "upstairs at Eric's". I finally decided that my desire to listen to TURANDOT outweighed the considerable loss in fidelity I would have to endure to listen to a vinyl edition of the music. Thus it was with a sense of resignation that I approached the spare bedroom where I keep my old vinyl collection. Anyway, to make a long story short: it turns out I don't even own a copy of TURANDOT in VINYL! So you see, all this deliberation and internal debate for NOTHING! BOY, did I feel like a BOZO! [] Good for you! Could you have loaned your Turandot to a friend who returned the Boheme instead? -- "It's the thought, if any, that counts!" Dick Grantges hound!rfg
