[net.music.classical] Beethoven's 9th on CD and a jazz question

nivek@cmu-ri-rover.ARPA (Kevin Dowling) (05/03/85)

I have the Suitner/Staatskapelle version of Beethoven's 9th on CD (Denon
C37-7021) and enjoy it very much. I haven't heard the many other versions
mentioned here on the list, but saw that the Hiatink/Concertgebouw version
(Philips 410 036-2 PH) was rated highly by reader's of Digital Audio, and
was wondering if someone has heard both and can give a comparison? Thanks.

Also I was wondering if anyone has heard the CD version of Oscar Peterson
(Night Train) or Herb Albert (Rise) and had any comment on these. I'm posting
here about this because there isn't a net.music.jazz and net.music is a
plethora of random flames.
