I would like a recommendation for a CD recording of Handel's "Messiah."
My favorite vinyl version is Bernstein's with the Westminister Choir,
(the "white album", as it were), recorded in the early 60's. I'm not
terribly enthusiastic about original instruments or even authentic
versions (Bernstein refers to some woodwind parts added by Mozart,
which I like). I also prefer harpsichord continuo to organ.
