Dick Grantges is correct in being able to abtain a Groves for
a reasonable amount of money, as long as it is a fith edition
or earlier (the fifth is 9 volumes plus a supllement). However,
the new groves is $2200 and will not be found at any book sales.

One point to check - are the articles in question new for the
new edition or merely the ones from the fifth - if the latter,
by all means buy the entire set - if not, buy seperately.

New Groves does indeed have many new and substantially rewritten
articles. Better still, it has a few fictitious articles, thrown in to
help detect plaigerizers.

Interesting. Do you have examples?
