[net.music.classical] Silly words to themes

And then there's the theme of the Scherzo of Schumann's D minor
Symphony:

There was a young lady of Lynn
Who sat on the point of a pin...

and the rest of the theme is self-explanatory.

There's a little book by Jezufa(??) Heifetz (published by Penguin) with the
atrocious title "From Bach to Verse" that contains nothing but such silliness.
Some favorites:
	Beethoven's Fifth starts with

	Take out the trash!
	Don't let it splash!

and goes on for half a page.

	Brahms' Fourth Symphony begins with

	They sel-
	dom play
	In ju-
	nior proms
	The mu-
	sic of
	Jo-
	hannes Brahms.

Before you know, the seriousness of a whole lot of music will be gone forever.

And don't forget this theme from Beethoven's Fifth Symphony:

Step on the ants, step the ants, step on the ants, step on the ants...
