It seems that the world is ready for a clarinetist with the
talent and versatility of Wynton Marsalis on trumpet. After
all, we've had world class flautists, string players,
trumpeters, and pianists, but who is the last great clarinet
player.
I've heard rumors of such a man. It seems he recently
appeared on Johnny Carson's show, played a jazz concert at
Duke University, and was heard on a classical recording on
WBCJ-FM in Baltimore. Does anyone know who he is?
Are there other undiscovered clarinetists quietly recording
classical and jazz music?
If you can, please reply by mail. We're about to lose access
to all newsgroups that don't have an 'official' reason for
existence.
Thanks,
Brint
