This news group has been interesting and educational for me, but sad to say, it's no longer on the "approved" list in our part of the world -- the gates are going up, the shutters are coming down. Soon we will be huddled in our chilly Canadian isolation, wondering what the SF Opera is doing this year? what do people really like about Mahler? how expensive IS a Boesendoerfer? and no net.music.classical to turn to for answers and further questions. Those of you fortunate enough to live in a part of Netland where newsgroups can flourish uncensored by system administrators, cherish your freedom and "illegitmus non carborandum!" -- Peter H. Is anyone trying to organize a "newsletter" or a "mailing list" for readers of net.music.classical? If a central person agreed to create a digest, thereby controlling the quantity of characters mailed and the relevance of the list, we could continue our sharing and discussions via electronic mail and all the gatewayed nets of the world. There IS a forum for doing just that. It's called net.music. Recently people there have been discussing 20th century music preferences (like Berg and Glass). I was wondering about someting distributed by mail from a central site to specific users with addresses "user@host.domain;" for example, an Arpanet or CSNET distribution. B
