Oh no, what have I gotten myself into.....
I have somehow volunteered to be the Music Director for FASS, an
annual allegedly humorous musical show put on here at the U. of Waterloo.
Typical college stuff, old songs with new words, etc etc and an
attempt at a plot to string it all together.
Anyways, I'm putting togethter a pit band for the show, and am interested
in hearing any ideas people might have for Interesting Stuff that
the band could do between scenes (or during the show if appropriate).
Stuff along the lines of ...
- a song with "Big Ending" that goes on for five minutes.
- a song with a perpetual Intro, much to the consternation
of the singer who keeps getting ready to start but then
the band keeps going with more Intro...
- Anything by Spike Jones
- medleys of strangely inappropriate songs
("Jump" by the Pointer Sisters and Van Halen simultaneously?)
Anything at all. If anyone can recall any interesting Pit Band Humour
type stuff, I would be very appreciative if they could send any
ideas to me.
