Hi. I have a feeling that net.mag isn't quite working. The only things I can remember seeing in the last month or so are the things that I've posted (Dr. Dobb's Journal, Microsystems, and Computer Language) and some religious magazine. Well, since Microsystems seems to be dying (according to a rumor in net.micro), and no-one seems to care, I vote we nuke the newsgroup. Of course, if someone wants to dive in and start posting stuff, that's fine with me. I can probably be talked into continuing to post the ones I've been doing. I'd like to see the TOCs for Software - Practice and Experience, and the Bell {Labs, System} Technical Journal, if anyone is so inclined. Something else that I would be interested in seeing would be summaries of conference proceedings... Happy hacking! -- JR (John Rogers) ...ihnp4!fortune!foros1!jr also fortune!jr and proper!jr

If the net so desires, I will type in the TOCs for IEEE Spectrum, and depending on typing skill, workload, etc, maybe some other mags. If you want me to, drop me a line. I like the TOCs online. If we get a lot of people to be responsible for one or two journals each, we could have a really useful service. - peter bain ...!{allegra|decvax|clyde|ihnp4 }!watmath!wateng!pdbain hard mail: CCNG, CPH-2369A, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ont. Besides the classic journals many of us receive (e.g. IEEE Spectrum, IEEE Computer, CACM), and which I think I saw posted on the net by someone else, I'm also subscribed to ACM Computing Surveys, and also Scientific American. So I volunteer to post the TOCs of these two. I would be very happy if someone could post TOCs of other more general magazines (which I don't get) a la Scientific American, like Nature, etc. I guess that's the goal of this group: have people who subscribe post the TOC such that people who don't subscribe can avoid running to the library every week to see if there's anything interesting in all the magazines that have arrived.
