[net.net-people] CANCEL NOTE #6 ! ! ! ! !

wickart@iuvax.UUCP (05/09/84)

PLEASE DISREGARD NOTE #6! ! ! ! !
My apologies to all. I have been informed that the proposal in
note #6 (Polish "immigrant") is a felony under federal immigration
law, possibly making note #6 an invitation to conspire to a felony,
which would be a felony itself. Thanks to those of you who pointed
this out, both through net notes and e-mail. My apologies for not
getting back to all of you sooner: finals just went by, and I haven't
been on the net since the replies came in.
   To whomever it may concern:
   1) The proposal is hereby withdrawn. Any received replies will
simply be trashed.
   2) If anyone knows how to cancel the note, please do so.
   3) To those who sent good luck wishes, thanks. I guess our hopes
will simply have to ride with the immigration papers being cleared
naturally before the visa runs out.
   4) Again, my apologies to the net as a whole. I hope it is obvious
that, had I realized this was a felony, I would not have started
proceedings at all, let alone posted the idea on the net in such
bald-faced terms. We thought we had a loophole in the immigration
laws. I guess loophole hopes run a bit high around tax season.
   5) Also to the net, thank you for responding so quickly. I hate
to think what could have happened had we drawn some well-meaning,
equally ignorant person into a felony.
   6) Please note my change of name from T.F. Prune to Dr. Mud. Also,
I will henceforth be residing in /dev/null, rather than iuvax!wickart.
DUMB! Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb!
