Various points concerning laughtracks, Alda, and whatnot: 1. Brad Templeton noted that the laughtrack for M*A*S*H was not used during the more subtle jokes. I think that the laughtrack was also barred from the operating room. (Isn't it scary to think that the writers or whoever had to fight the network to keep the operating room from becoming a laugh-a-second blood and humor parlor?) 2. Why have many of these articles on Alan Alda been submitted to net.singles? He's married! 3. Shifting gears totally, did anyone else feel that the premiere of AfterMASH was choppy? The worst jump was from the scene in which a drunk Mulcahy telephones Potter (why?) to the scene in which the priest's operation is taking place in St. Louis. Nevertheless, not too bad a show.
