Hey, come on ... from where I sit, there's the East Coast, the West
Coast, and the Best Coast! Right here around the great lakes.

This man speaks the TRUTH! Why do you salt (and oil) water people
think they are called the GREAT Lakes!

The Great Lakes are alright-- they deserve a plug.
But mountains and oceans have more appeal to me.
Here by the Great Lakes, we can cross-country ski, golf and race boats
real fast on little lakes in Indiana.
But compared to down-hill skiing, repelling, mountain climbing, hiking in
the mountains, surfing, sailing on the ocean, scuba-diving, Broadway(Sorry
, but Chicago's *theatre* district just doesn't make it), San Francisco,
Seattle, Washington D.C., Boston(What a terrific town!!!), -------

oh, well-- you just can't get that variety in the Midwest. I know--
I've lived here all my life(not on a farm either.)

From where I sit, the entire east-coast/west-coast discussion makes no
sense. If any of the european or australian sites subscribe to this
group, they probably find all these discussions very strange.

Could the "Great Lakes" not be the "Best Lakes" ?

No doubt in my mind. I drink the water in some of our lakes around here.
I remember that the water in lake Travis tested out cleaner than the tab-water
here in Austin (which is not bad either).

But, I admit, they don't freeze - we go sailing year-round ... (-:

Austin, have a pleasant visit, and don't forget leaving again ....
