srm@nsc.UUCP (Richard Mateosian) (09/21/84)
* My name is Richard Mateosian. Three VAXen and the signature
lines of many documents know me as SRM. To ROGUE, I'm known
as SRM the Lionhearted. People call me Richard.
At National Semiconductor I'm the New Product Planning
Manager for the Series 32000. I'll be happy to correspond
with anyone on that subject.
I'm on the editorial board of IEEE Micro magazine. Any com-
ments, criticisms, or article proposals and suggestions you
wish to send me will be welcome. By the way, all IEEE Micro
editors are on COMPMAIL. There I'm known as CMP 0041.
I am active in the P854 group (Radix-independent floating
point, a generalization of P754). Since I am also actively
involved in work on National's next generation Floating
Point unit, I'll be happy to hear from anyone with opinions
on the subject.
My background is in software and systems development, and
I'm the author of two books: Programming the Z8000 and
Inside BASIC Games, both published by Sybex. Feel free to
send me your comments, criticisms, or questions, although
I'm not as much of a Z8000 Guru as I was once upon a time.
I was with Zilog for almost three years before joining
National. I handled Zilog's participation in the EDN bench-
marks.
On the subject of benchmarking, I'm interested in hearing
from anyone who has done a benchmark involving Series 32000
parts or systems.
In recent years I have submitted many papers and given many
talks at such conferences as Compcon, NCC, Wescon, Electro.
I frequently organize sessions. If you're thinking of
organizing a session on one of the topics I'm involved with,
please let me know. I'll probably agree to participate.
Finally, my address on this net is nsc!srm. One of the many
ways to reach me would be ...ihnp4!nsc!srm. Also possible
is ...ucbvax!amd!nsc!srm.
Although I have been reading the news for several months and
have occasionally sent mail to people at other sites, this
is my first posting to the net. I'm sure it won't be the
last.

I do a great deal of benchmarking myself, Richard. But, I usually do it in private with close friends. I suggest you do, too. Trisha
