this article was originally posted on net.college but at someone's suggestion i am posting it on newsgroups with a wider audience. stuyvesant high school's 80th anniversary is coming up. to celebrate, there is going to be an 80th anniversary celebration on sunday november 18th. the cost will be $15 and the organization thats doing it would like to receive responses by october 25th. its going to be held in the east and west cafeteria (if i remember correctly, freshman and sophomores in the east, juniors and seniors in the west, alumni will be allowed to roam the halls to see if any of the graffiti they put on the walls is still there (just jesting)). the class of '75 (of which i am a proud member) will be having some type of event next year to celebrate our tenth anniversary. rich sedano ('75) put together the issue of "alumni apathy" (our class newsletter) which announced all of this. finally, a stuyvesant high school coalition has been formed from those people who are interested in helping to keep the school retain its quality education (i think thats the purpose). i haven't attended any of the meetings but it sounds interesting. anyone interested in any of the above, can contact me for more information. danny chen hou2b!dwc (201) 949-0827
