[net.origins] Whatever happened to scientific creationism?

js2j@mhuxt.UUCP (sonntag) (08/23/84)

For the last few weeks, I've been waiting for some creationist to post to
the net an explanation is scientific creationism. SOMEBODY out there
claimed that there exixts a reasonably scientific theory which included
creation as the origin of species. Will I wait in vain? Was 'somebody'
only trying to gain argument points by making this (so far) unsupported
claim?

If nobody does post a description of scientific creationism to the net,
I'll have to assume that no such theory exists, and that creationism is
only religion, as I have always suspected it to be.

Is that why no explanation has been forthcoming?

"And on the zeroeth day, God created the fossils, and made them to be as
though they were very old; and God did place these fossils deep in the
earth, and made the earth where the fossils lay appear to be just as old
as the fossils appeared."

INTERVIEWER: Well, God, I wonder if you would tell me why you made the
fossils, and why you made them appear to be so much older
              than the Earth really is?
GOD: Oh, the fossils? Well, they were just for laughs, really.
