Subject: Survey: Why this

"I do NOT believe that Creationism is science,:

NO I would not bother reading this newsgroup (net.origins) if there
were not the threat that the teaching of creationism as science
in our schools would be mandated by law.

NO I would not consider creation science a topic worthy of discussion
if it were not for the threat that the teaching of creationism
as science in our schools would be mandated by law.

These people are the spiritual descendents of the officers of the inquisition.
Given access to unlimited power they will institute a social holocaust , the
likes of which we have not seen since the middle ages.
If the history of the dark ages and the Spanish inquisition was not so well
documented it might be argued that religious fundamentalism is not one of the
greatest threats that civilization faces.
Religious fundamentalism is metaphysical totalitarianism , and is totally at
odds with individual freedom , to think , to ask , to question.
There are some who would find it comforting to have Big Brother
represented in a single Church-State-Society , and in a free society I support
their right to talk about it.
But - by God these people must never again be given access to the monstrous
powers of the government.
Creationism is an intellectual Trojan horse ,to be dragged into the public
school system.
                              Don't let them.
