>Haven't you heard of the ICR (Institute of Creation Research) based in

Then why do these "scientists" find it necessary to make their
presentations primarily in churches and bible clubs? When I lived
in Chicago, the ICR Midwest Chapter regularly held two-day sessions
on creationism in traditionally fundamentalist evangelical churches
and presented their "scientific" talks along with multimedia
shows titled something like "How great is Our Creator."
In fact, that's how I first learned that a scientific creationist
movement existed -- the former director of ICR Midwest, David C. C.
Watson, spoke to my church's Sunday school class! How did he open
the talk? Something like, "I'm always glad to speak to bible-believing
Christians!" Not only did what he have to say surprise me, it shocked
me that my Christian brothers and sisters fully accepted his presentation
without question, then proceeded to talk about how awful it was
that our schools taught evolution! Whew!

When Mr. Watson's successor at ICR Midwest
(I think his name is Raymond Brown -- correct me if I'm wrong)
spoke during noon-hour talks at AT&T Bell Laboratories,
it was at the invitation of the Bible Club.
A major national conference of ICR members was held one year at
Wheaton College, a fundamentalist Christian college.

Given this circumstantial evidence, I can't accept the statement that
creation scientists base their scientific theories on science alone!
