__________________________________________________________________________ To all scientists: You do realize that the creationists will never cease to bother you. You do realize that the creationists will never accept any inter- mediates. (To do so only brings their fallacies into the light.) You do realize that if you find an intermediate, you will only make their argument easier because they now have TWO gaps to complain about. You do realize that they argue on the ABSENCE of evidence, not the presence of it. You do realize that they accept an authority that is beyond your realm of study. You do realize that this authority is predefined by the pseudoscientists in the creationist crowd. (refer to ICR/CRS) You do realize that they are NOT seeking YOUR opinion on the subject. You do realize that they are trying to force THEIR opinion on YOUR children by making laws that say what is science and what is not WITHOUT YOUR SAY. (After all, how could scientists know anything about science?!) You do realize that they use the lowest, slimiest methods of deception possible to con the public into thinking that they actually do the kind of work YOU do, find the evidence YOU find, use the same logic YOU use, and BETTER YET, they have the support of GOD. You do realize that they are selfish and narrow-minded enough to want to destroy YOU for their own rusty traditional beliefs. You do realize that ... SO WHAT ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE SO THEY COULD BULLDOZE YOU OVER CLEAN AND DESTROY THE ONLY HUMAN INSTITUTION THAT BROUGHT MAN OUT OF THE DARK AGES AND PUT HIM ON THE MOON?! __________________________________________________________________________ Keebler

[] I am not a creationist myself. However, I don't think that the rhetoric in that last letter was called for. I'd like to see more solid discussions of evolutionist and creationist positions in this newsgroup, as opposed to personal attacks and futile discussions of which side is honest/dishonest. > I'd like to see > more solid discussions of evolutionist and creationist positions > in this newsgroup, as opposed to personal attacks and futile discussions > of which side is honest/dishonest. I'd like to see some solid discussion of this issue, also. For almost two years I have observed Scientists and fellow travelers asking, nay demanding, that someone post some solid evidence that a creator created the world as we know it. The best we have gotten is evidence that there is something incomplete about our knowlege of origins. This is not disputed by anyone. This is also no evidence for the theory of creation by creator. Charges of dishonesty are bound to arise when people who call themselves scientists engage in activities that are regarded by the world of science as unethical. This is essential to the well-being of science. Creationists consistently engage in behavior that would result in professonal ruin if done by a real scientist. Since they are religious, rather than scientific, people this behavior is supported and applauded by their peers. Everything about Creationism and Creationist points to the fact that it is not science and they are not scientists and to suggest otherwise is a lie. And telling lies is dishonest. And no amount of whining is going to change this basic reality. -- Michael Ward, NCAR/SCD UUCP: {hplabs,nbires,brl-bmd,seismo,menlo70,stcvax}!hao!ward ARPA: hplabs!hao!ward@Berkeley BELL: 303-497-1252 USPS: POB 3000, Boulder, CO 80307
