[net.origins] Christian men of Science

Let's not get carried away in our eagerness to disagree with
those we dislike.

There are many who are both true Christian and true scientists.
There is nothing about the Christian religion that makes it neccessarily
anagonistic to science. It's only when one's religion forces
one to try to accept the Bible as totally true in every way that
problems arise. (Considering the self contradictions within the
Bible, members of such religions got problems, anyhow).

Let's face it, there is really no contradiction between a belief
in divine creation and a belief in evolution. Reconciling such
beliefs is so easy that all major religions have done it (boy,
am I gonna get it for that!?) It just seems difficult for some
people to remember that religion can include science, but science,
by definition, excludes religion.
