Typical, typical, typical. And the same was said to Churchill when he opposed Hitler. "Churchill wants war, while Chamberlain wants peace." "The way to peace with Hitler is appeasment." Some of us do not believe in appeasment, and believe that the only way to protect our country is to remain strong. So of course, the "peace" types just say "They WANT war" and "We only want to protect our children." Always assuming that their opponents do not. Or if not assuming that, then trying to convice others that anyone who disagrees with them wants nuclear war. Win by intimidation, I guess. If you want to demonstrate for peace, then demonstrate against the USSR in Afganistan. The news says that the USSR is using terrorist tactics now against the rebels. Bombing towns and burning women and children in ovens in retaliation for attacks. I wonder if that last is verified? Hitler was condemmed (along with all of Germany) for doing it, but the USSR is ignored. Typical. Easier to attack the US and its allies than its enemies. And more "patriotic" also. I wonder what all the people in Los Alamos National Lab, Livermore National Lab, the military, and other places would have to say if you said (as you seem to do) that everyone who is not in the peace movement is a Creationist? Or a Christian? Besides, I seem to remember in the debates how Mondale tried to assure everyone that he was a good Christian ("I have sung at more <something> than anyone"). Doesn't that mean he also WANTS nuclear war? Richard Thomsen PS: This is not the right newsgroup for the discussion; I was just responding. Flames will be ignored.
