[net.origins] Old News is No News?

dubois@uwmacc.UUCP (Paul DuBois) (05/17/85)

I would like to suggest that everybody in this newsgroup take a
vacation for about 2 months while I try to get caught up in my replies
to various articles. :-) I'm still writing answers to articles that
are three or four hundred articles old! Oh, well...

I say this because I'm going to post several articles within a day or
two, but since I haven't been reading the net very regularly for a
while, I'm not sure if what I will say has already been resolved. If
so, my apologies. I have not missed any articles, however. I have a
stack of printout two inches thick at home, but I've barely even looked
at it. Two exceptions: I saw Duncan Buell's "FRONTLINE" article while
glancing through this pile, and it's such a good article that it went
to the head of the response queue. Also Beth Christy's article on the
nature of references. This touches on some very important issues, so
it also went to the head of the list. (Not that there aren't lots of
very important issues in this newsgroup, but this is one of the few on
which I have some definite thoughts!)
