[net.origins] The Real Robert Brown, probably

  thought that I might be the author of said references.

I am not Robert H. Brown but one Robert J(initial only) Brown,
(if anyone cares).

Further, I specifically deny having ever retracted anything about 
the probability study I presented.  I did not essentially say
"I knew it was meaningless" because I know no such thing to be true.

While I applaud Gordon's remembering an obscure contributor such
as me (or perhaps I'm a grand bozo in his collection !) unless
he can provide me in context such a specific article where I
say that I knew it was meaningless ( boy that's an awful thing
to say) I deny it 10,000 times.  (Golly Gordon that hurt !).
