> Articles concerning the late Immanuel Velikovsky > invariable contain some use of the verb "debunk", the [...] > [personal attacks, name dropping, and mistaken arguments deleted] I tenatively assigned this posting the category "satire" when I first read it. On the off chance that it is not, I'll point out that Velikovsky hasn't been "debunked", but rather he has been shown to be *incorrect*, many times, and on many points. Taking the posting as satire, however, it is quite good. The line "arguments against Velikovsky strike me as ad-hominisms" in an article that consists mainly of personal attacks and name-dropping is a particularly droll touch. If you have the time, by the way, Velokovsky in the original is interesting reading. I can't say I recommend it, but it *is* interesting. Form your own conclusions as to its worth. -- Wayne Throop at Data General, RTP, NC <the-known-world>!mcnc!rti-sel!rtp47!throopw
