I like this description of the Cabbage Patch Kid (Arrggh) from Bill Stokes' column in the Chicago Tribune: The Cabbage Patch Kid, as you know, is a kind of dumb-looking, beady-eyed, soft doll that somewhat resembles Miss Piggy. It has a big head, flat, stubby nose and a lipless mouth that is puckered inward. It has no chin, and its short little arms reach out in a gesture of abject helplessness. In short, Virginia, it looks a lot like all the new babies you see, and when Santa saw it, he snickered and said, "Ho, ho, ho. The Cabbage Patch Kid looks like a potato with feet. Better not stock too many of them." (From "Yes, Virginia, there IS - but Santa doesn't have any") So, THAT explains it! B. Walsh
