- Does anyone out there have a copy of DSEE or DPSS as either beta or official release? When are they supposed to start shipping? What are your impressions? Is it buggy? Is anyone out there? John Leon AT&T ISL, Denver druny!jml

DSEE is Domain Software Engineering Environment, and DPSS is Domain Professional Support Services. We have had a beta test copy of DPSS for about 2 months. DPSS is heavily graphics and menu based, and consists of 5 tools: document (an editor), mail, file (notions of desks, file cabinets, folders, etc.), calc (spread sheet), and calendar (record your meetings). We found the tools to have a good number of bugs, poor performance, a poor user interface, and limited functionality. If the product were released as is (but with the bugs fixed), we would not buy it. A decision to release the product soon, as opposed working on it for a few more months, is supposed to be made by Apollo by April 9.
