[net.misc] 12 days <==> wise men's arrival

stanwyck@ihuxr.UUCP (12/13/83)

Many (probably most) modern theologians place the wise men's arrival 2-3 years
after the birth.

I believe the 12 days is drawn from the pagen festival that the Christians
took over to celebrate an event that probably happened in the early spring.
(Remember, the shepards were out on the hillside, which is someplace that
they were not likely to be in the winter. They had wintering stalls even
then).
