_1. _T_h_e _j_o_b: Radiation Oncology is looking for someone to port a software tool for radiation treatment design to the (generic?) X environment. The tool (which was presented at the Interactive 3D Graphics Workshop in Chapel Hill last year) requires interactive manipulation of several views of a 3D data set and "paging" of greyscale images. _2. _T_h_e _b_a_d _n_e_w_s: The money will be competitive for a position in the North Carolina state employee system, and will be as sensitive as possible to your qualifications. The potential for doing "science" is directly pro- portional to your efficiency in getting the rote port done. We cannot pay travel or moving expenses. Chapel Hill weather can be stifling in the sum- mer. _3. _T_h_e _c_a_r_r_o_t_s: This is an opportunity to hone your X/graphics/image manipulation skills in the middle of one of the academic world's most active graphics and image processing groups. It is also an opportunity to help in the clinical implementation of software which promises to make sig- nificant changes in the way cancer is treated. We have a strong working relationship with several members of the UNC Computer Science faculty. We use Pixel-Planes sometimes. The concept of "summer help" is loosely defined. The mountains and beaches of North Carolina (a 3 hour drive in either direction) are great in the summer. _4. _S_o _w_h_e_r_e _d_o _I _s_i_g_n? Send your CV, requests for elucidation, or what- ever to me and I'll get back to you. _5. _D_i_s_c_l_a_i_m_e_r: This should not be construed as an official solicitation for applications for any position with the State of North Carolina or N.C. Memorial Hospital, nor should any correspondence with me be considered an official application for such a position. - George George W.
