[net.abortion] why should I not kill you

dolan@ihnp1.UUCP (Mike Dolan) (03/07/84)

This is in response to Sophie's statement that she has a different
ethical system as regards the killing of human beings.

If you posit that you have the right to kill a human being, please
go one step further. If you can decide when it is OK to kill a
human being, why can I not decide that it is OK to kill you?
Moreover, what effort do you expect society to make to protect you
from my attempt to kill you? Do you feel that you have the right
to call on the police to protect you? If so, why?

While Sophie made the original statement to which I am replying,
please consider this a question to all interested persons in this
newsgroup.

I *knew* this question was coming! Well, the little "sociological survey"
I posted to net.women, net.philosophy, and net.politics a while back is still
bubbling away. I should have some sifted data in about two weeks, folks!

OK, how many of those few left here in net."the big A"
honestly believe that abortion will lead to
mass murder of whomever we don't like??

Why is it I do not see the connection?

Does anyone actually believe this will happen?? Just because
abortion has become accepted by some, do we say these
same people also like to indescriminately go out
and kill a few folks on Saturday night??

Should those who have had an abortion be kept away from
small children for fear of a "tendency" to kill them?

Please do not answer these questions.....it would kill me!

p.s. Paul and Mike, do you really think abortion will lead
to killing Uncle Joe since he is a burden???
      Don't worry I won't post your answers.
