There has been discussions lately generally regarding the rights of humans and animals to live and whether the killing of animals for meat should have the same legal status as abortion. I attempted to post my ideas on this before but the host system took a nose-dive and I'm not sure it made it out. My apologies if you've seen this already. There are only so many rights issues a person can become really involved with before he is spread too thin to be effective in any one. I'm involved in the right of humans to live and I believe that issue can and should be discussed independent of others. If you have the time and inclination to make it one issue, please do so and feel free to discuss the combined issue with others of the same choosing. If you, as a result, effect legislation that would prohibit abortion and animal slaughter for meat, I'll gladly give up hamburgers with no regrets. In fact, if your trully interested in protecting animal rights, I would suggest joining the pro-life side as the first step toward credibility. After all, if a species can't protect its own, can it effectively protect another. Mike Johnston
