>Matt Noah seems to think that pro-choicers are all pro-abortion....ok
>he is entitled to his opinion. But the statement that pro-choicers
>believe the way they do because of money is ludicrous at best. One
>could also say pro-lifers are that way because of money...they don't
>want to pay for poor woman's abortions.

I am not so much concerned about the beliefs of pro-choicers as I am
concerned and actively involved in what they do. People who work in
clinics are pro-choice in their actions and make a living performing
abortions. There are alot of things I don't want to pay for that the
government spends money on, but I would rather pay to SAVE lives than
DESTROY them.

>Mr. Noah also seems to draw a corelation between frequency of child abuse
>and abortion's legality. That is like drawing a correlation between the
>number of people who died in vietnam, and what kind of drinking water
>they had as kids. Gee, maybe it did have something to do with it :)

Why is this correlation in error? Did I say it was 1:1? Your alleged
analogy doesn't make sense to me - does it to the rest of the net?

>Or is this the same argument as with
>abortion's legality.....you became addicted to drugs, you should take
>the risk of dying because of it (you got pregnant, that's your problem)
>which it seems Noah is saying.

Making abortion illegal will reduce the risk of dying for millions
of unborn infants. Believe it or not, women currently die in abortion
clinics due to unsafe practices. Dr. Allred, operator of most of SoCal's
clinics is being prosecuted for just such an offense related to an
Hispanic girl's death at one of his clinics.

>p.s. is your Tender Life example pro-choice, or does it tell a woman
>who comes to them for help that she would be a murderer if she had
>an abortion?

If you still have the phone number from my posting why don't you call it
and discover for yourself? I'm sure you can think of a probing question
which will answer your question and you'll get a first-hand experience
with a pro-life organization.

I've been active in the abortion issue now for 18 years so this statement
provides a small chuckle. The original coorelation between child abuse and
abortion's legality originated in the pro-choice camp. There, someone, to
the tune of their own logic I guess, decided that if a woman didn't want a
child but was prevented from aborting it then that child would be unwanted.
Since it did have a logical sound to it, someone made it a statement a fact.

As a result immeasurable harm came to the pro-life groups as people said
"who wants battered children, let's support abortion".

Finally evidence was produced (and I don't believe either side refutes the
evidence) that at the least showed no effect but even hints at the
opposite effects.

At least Mr. Noah is working from facts.
