OK... leave this line to be munched... I'm pretty new to the system, so I may be posting something redundant, so please bear with me. It should be short. A while ago, I think it was Joseph Judge (I could be wrong, please tell if so...) said somethig like "Abortion is as any other moral issue, up to the individual. You can say what you believe to be right, BUT only for you, not me or any others. The ultimate choice is personal. I am not a right-to-lifer or a pro-abortionist. I am a male, if I were female I would resent anyone telling me what I can or can't do with my child/body. Moral issues such as these are ultimately personal. They regerd discussion from an objective point of view and should not criticize those who believe differently from themselves..." I may be missing the point, but: personally, I am a pro-lifer (or an anti-choicer, take your pick). I think that women have the right to do anything they want with their own bodies. BUT I also believe that an unborn child, foetus, what have you, is a LIVING HUMAN BEING. Maybe it's only my personal belief, but if I believe foetuses to be human, then to aboert a foetus is the same as murdering a human being. Now there is a second person involved: the unborn person. I believe that if someone is doing something wrong to another person, I have the right to do something about it (ie if a parent is abusing a child, I don't think that I should mind my own business because I may be told it's not abuse, it's just strict discipline). I think think thet apartheid is abhorrent; the fact that the South African government thinks it all well and good won't deter me from protesting it and trying to change it if I possibly can. Since to me abortion is murder, I cannot say to myself that it's none of my business; it is, because my fellow human beings are threatened, and they can't speak for themselves. I will do everything I can to change the abortion laws;because of my beliefs, I can do no less (when I say everything I can, I mean protests, lobbying, etc. I do not in any way support bombings or death threats: I think persons who do such things are pro-violence and anti-life, not the other way around). My point? Because of my views, I CANNOT keep them to myself. It is not a simple issue of morals. It is the fundamental difference between humanity and nonhumanity, or between a simple foetal-ectomy and murder. I hope I presented my point clearly. Please reply on the net, correct me if you think I'M wrong, state your case. (To Mr Judge...if I took you out of context, RSVP.)
