We have an HP 86 computer hooked up in a lab. We would like to use the data from the HP on an IBM PC. We are interested in two possible ways: 1. kermit for the HP would allow us to do it over rs232 lines 2. create ibm formatted disks on the hp Anybody have either of these programs? Thanks. There exists a version of kermit for the HP Series 80 (86 in particular, I believe). The main distribution site for Kermit is Columbia University, but there is kermit server and UUCP service from Oklahoma State University. I will attempt to mail the kermit I took off of Oklahoma to the original base- note. Bill Saltzstein

The internal sector buffer is only 256 bytes while the IBM needs 512. I understand that there are programs for the IBM that can read/write HP LIF formated discs but I have not tested any with HP-86 discs. John Eaton !hplabs!hp-pcd!john
