[net.micro.hp] Integral freeware?

jmorton@euler.Berkeley.EDU (John Willard Morton) (10/14/86)

Thanks to all who replied to my survey to find out if there are any other
Integrals besides mine. Conclusions:

	1) Yes, there are some.

	2) Users divide into 2 categories: those involved with serious engin-
eering applications in their work (for which special-purpose programs
are available); and those who wanted a UNIX micro because they like
UNIX and micros. The latter are disappointed with the basic machine
and with the small selection of general-purpose software.

	3) There is interest and assistance in the HP Usenet community which
I have never found in any S.F. Bay Area HP contact.

	4) I am the most ignorant of all HP users - the only one who has no
legitimate excuse for using or liking computers!

Some requests:

Would the person who knows of Integral freeware discs (Ken Bronstein?)
please let me and others know where to obtain same?
Does anyone have an idea for an educational project with which to learn
the basics of instrument control using Integral, BASIC w/ I/O manual and (hope-
fully) not too much money?
Is there a manual for HP Technical BASIC with a tutorial approach and
program examples? It behaves unexpectedly in the area of variable assignments
and scope (my experience is in C and Pascal).

					Thanks
